The best way to not be surprised by hidden costs is to assume they exist and ask lots of questions to uncover them. Resorts charge per item for a number of things from setup fees for the ceremony and reception to closure and cake-cutting fees. Make sure you know every charge that will be applied to your bill before signing anything.
