Is it a good idea to put group blocks in place at the hotel? With the airline? What are the advantages?
A:
We suggest putting group blocks in place at your hotel, but you should also encourage your guests to look online for rooms with lower rates. This is especially true if your hotel has a lot of empty rooms — they may lower the prices significantly online just to fill the beds.
For the airline, it would be better to try to get a group discount rather than a group block. On most airlines, putting in a group block means that everyone has to depart and return at the same time whereas group discounts tend to be more flexible.
