Destination Weddings: Risk Bad Weather?

Q:

My location has a high and low season, and we’d really like to take advantage of the great deals during the low season. But are the savings worth the possibility of bad weather?

A:

The answer is an unequivocal no! Though prices may be reduced significantly — ignore them. Weather during the low season is unpredictable: hurricane season in the Caribbean is especially infamous and an imminent storm could easily result in a cancellation of the festivities altogether. Wedding plans may be safer towards the tail end of the season, but in general, don’t risk it.
