Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé’s New Duet Is Perfect for Your First Dance

We’ve already recommended Ed Sheeran’s song “Perfect” from his latest album ÷ (Divide) for your first dance because, well, it’s perfect (no pun intended). But as if the original wasn’t beautiful enough, the English singer teamed up with Beyoncé to create an even more epic version of the slow, soulful ballad, and we have one question: Was this song literally written to be a first dance song? The lyrics remain primarily the same in the new duet, with Beyoncé’s verses simply switching the gender pronouns. But it seems even more tender with the two Grammy winners serenading each other. Just take a look at some of these lyrics:

Ed Sheeran: Oh, I never knew you were the someone/Waitin’ for me/’Cause we were just kids when we fell in love/Not knowin’ what it was… Baby, I’m dancing in the dark/With you between my arms

Beyoncé: Darling, just hold my hand/Be your girl, you’ll be my man/And I see my future in your eyes

Both, together (!): Looking so beautiful/I don’t deserve this/Darling, you look perfect tonight

We’re calling it now: This will be the new hottest wedding song. Take a listen below, but be warned: You’ll probably cry.
