Pros are swapping tabletop arrangements for hanging installations of branches, vines and statement florals. Ask your florist to create a swag to suspend over your sweetheart table or hang above your altar. Flower Girl NYC founder Denise Porcaro shares the inspiration behind the floral overhang she created and why she loves this budding trend.
A New “It” Arrangement
“We’ve been creating different variations of overhangs for clients that want to add a touch of whimsy to their space. They’re a great fit for celebrations held in a loft or barn, or anywhere with high ceilings that could benefit from a pop of color.”
Pretty in Purple
“I chose a mix of purples, which is such a pretty color to use throughout autumn. For an ombré effect, I worked with a variety of blooms—from orchids and sweet peas to ranunculus—in a range of purple. A mossy branch was the perfect natural base, while crystals and stones gave the structure a dreamy feel.”
The Perfect Spot
“A floral overhang can take many forms, so you’re not limited by your space or wedding style. I love the look of several swags hung above long farm tables to create a romantic dining atmosphere.”
