Residency Requirement: For marriage license, 15 days with 7 day waiting period. For marriage certificate, 7 days with 22 day waiting period.

Necessary Documents: Valid passports; birth certificates; photo ID; certified copy of divorce or death certificate if one or both parties has been previously married

Note: You must be at least 18 years old to marry in Ireland and have given at least three months written notification of your intention to marry to the appropriate Registrar for the district in which the marriage is to take place. Two to three weeks after submitting the notification of intention to marry, the bride and groom must arrange an appointment with the Registrar for the district in which the marriage is to take place to serve notice, for which both parties must be present. Marriages celebrated according to the rites and ceremonies of the Church of Ireland require that both parties be Protestant Episcopalians. Marriages celebrated according to the form and discipline of the Presbyterian Church require that both parties be Presbyterian. Marriages by religious ceremony must be celebrated in a building licensed, certified or registered by the Registrar for the purpose of marriage.
