Must-See Sights
Jeff (above, lef) and Rem spent their time in the Big Apple soaking up the sights from the top of the Empire State Building, strolling through museums, and touring Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty and the Hudson River via a dinner cruise. “We also visited Carlo’s Bakery way too many times,” Jeff says of trips to the sweet shop made famous by TLC’s Cake Boss. Additional sights included a trip to the TODAY show set, Central Park, Ellen’s Stardust Diner, Per Se and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Honeymoon Highlight
As a way to thank the friends and family members who contributed to their honeymoon fund, the newlyweds created custom cards that expressed their gratitude for each wedding guest. “For every activity Rem and I did together, we took selfies with a card and posted them on social media,” Jeff says.
Worth the Splurge
“I thought we could get away with taking pictures on our cell phones, but the images that Flytographer caught were incredible,” Jeff says of booking the photography service to snap a few photos of him and Rem in Central Park. “It seemed like an extravagance, but Flytographer captured an extremely beautiful moment in our lives that we’ll never forget.”
Travel Tip
A reservation is necessary almost everywhere you go in Manhattan, so book ahead for brunch, tours and Broadway shows. “We had prearranged activities planned but also set aside time to unwind with a few books at our hotel,” Jeff says.
