You found the perfect florist to create your dream wedding vision—congratulations! But before signing on the dotted line, make sure these important points are included in your wedding flower contract.
- Name and contact information for you and the vendor.
- Date, times and locations of your ceremony and reception.
- Arrival times for setup at the ceremony and reception sites (or, if these times aren’t available yet, include a line that guarantees that flowers will be set up prior to guest arrival).
- When bouquets and boutonnieres should be delivered, and where, if not to the ceremony site (to your home or hotel suite, for example). If you don’t know where you’ll be getting ready yet, include a line that guarantees the personal flowers will be delivered before your ceremony.
- A line stating that your most recent flower proposal will be followed to a tee. (Find everything you need to know about your flower proposal here.)
- Name of the florist who will be on hand during the wedding (your florist will contact you prior to the wedding if this needs to change). Some florists, if they’re playing the role of stylist or planner, will stay for the entire event. If they’re simply providing décor, they’ll likely stay for setup and any room changes, and then once the reception is decorated and set, they’ll leave.
- Total cost and payment schedule, including due dates for the deposit and balance.
- Sales tax, overtime charges, delivery fees and setup fees.
- Cancellation or refund policy.
- Florist’s signature.
- Your signature.
