Heads up: The most popular wedding date of 2018 is right around the corner (as in, tomorrow).
According to the number of users on The Knot getting married on August 18, 2018, it’s officially the most popular wedding date of the year. (To be exact, 28,633 couples are saying “I do,” compared with the second most popular day of this year to get married, October 6, with 24,278 couples planning their nuptials.)
With an average of 136 guests per wedding, an estimated 3.6 million guests will be attending weddings this weekend, spending roughly $261 on travel, accommodations, attire and gifts, which in total will amount to around $1 billion spent by guests attending weddings this weekend. No biggie.
Basically, it’s the busiest day in the wedding industry of 2018, and if you’re not personally attending a wedding yourself this weekend, odds are, you know someone (or a vendor) who is. We hope everyone feels the love as much as we do this weekend.
