These Wedding Cakes Are Inspired by Celebrity Bridal Looks

“We highlighted the gold peacock feathers on Kate’s dress,” says Lauri Ditunno of Cake Alchemy. Ruffles and swags of fabric-like fondant mimic the straps and detailing of Moss’s gown. “Work with your baker to highlight the elements of your dress that make it really unique.”

The gown’s airy layers, delicate lace and jewels are represented in the cake’s design. “The dress reminded me of delicate clouds, which led to the ‘swooshy’ layering of buttercream,” says Emily Aumiller of Lael Cakes. A touch of pale pink was a subtle nod to the gauzy, ombré skirt, while a statement floral topper paid homage to Hathaway’s tulle headpiece.

“Olivia’s tulle skirt overlay had a really fabulous appliqué,” says Lauren Bohl White, the owner ofA White Cake. White mimicked the tastemaker’s simple and elegant wedding day look, leaving one tier completely bare. Scalloped layers give the cake originality and edge.

“The delicate Chantilly floral lace appliqués are the basis of this five-tier design,” says Ana Parzych of Ana Parzych Cakes. A lily of the valley cake topper echoes the flowers in the duchess’s bouquet. Intertwined initials on the second tier add a personal touch to the confection.
