Getting married is a very exciting time.  However, it can also be a very hectic and apprehensive time.  You want to make sure that everything is perfect for this day that you have been thinking about your whole life.  One of the steps in planning your wedding is producing the wedding invitations.

How to Get Wedding Invitations Done Right?

Here are 5 things to consider when planning your wedding invitations.

How much are you willing to spend?  The first thing you need to do is to set yourselves a budged.  You need to plan for X amount of dollars to spend in total on your wedding invitations, and from there, plan the rest accordingly.  If you do not finalize your budget ahead of time, you will probably find yourself spending a lot more money than you thought you would.

How many invitations do you need?  Are you having a small intimate wedding, or do you want a huge blowout with everyone you have ever known there?  Everyone has different feelings about this, and budgeting will also help steer this decision.

However, it is very important to have a rough estimate in your head before you start planning your invitations. Are these invitations going to write themselves?  I assure you they will not.  There are a few options for this.  Some people hand-write their own invitations; this could be quite the task if you have a guest list of 500 people.  Some people hire a writer to write them, perhaps a professional calligrapher.  This can be rather expensive, so will depend heavily on your aforementioned budget.  Many people often have their invitations designed and printed by a graphic company.

What color?  Are you going to use your wedding colors for your invitation colors, or a traditional white and silver?  This may seem like a simple question, but once you start thinking about it, you may find yourself a little undecided.

Are you going to include a photograph?  It has become a recent trend to add a photograph of the bride and groom to the invitation.  Some couples write the invitation on a transparent piece of paper over the photograph, and some just include a photograph in the envelope.  There is no right or wrong, but you need to have an idea of what you want, because this too will affect your budget.Once you have answered all of these questions, you should have a pretty good idea of where you stand and what you are looking for.  Get out there and find it.
