I’m having a really small destination wedding (like 30 family members and close friends) at a vineyard in Napa Valley. Is it a horrible idea to invite a second round of folks after we get the first set of RSVPs?
A:
No—just don’t wait too long because then people won’t have time to book flights, and they might figure out they were on the B-list. Reach out to your true A-list (immediate family, BFFs) and see if they can make your chosen date before you send the first invite. That will give you a pretty good idea of your list and who will get an invite, but you also know who won’t be able to attend. This way, you’ll be able to extend invites to the “replacements” at the same time. Then, if you get more regrets than anticipated, go ahead and send a second set—but do it quickly so they have a chance to try to make your vineyard vows. Cheers!
