After the wedding ceremony, your honeymoon is the next event that holds such high hopes for delivering a good time. In my case, the post-matrimony vacay has been delayed so many times (put it this way … it’s looking like next April, we’ll be celebrating our second anniversary on our honeymoon) that the expectation is pretty much for an unbeatable experience. Or by that point, we’ll just be happy to actually be boarding transportation to anywhere that even snuggling with a plane pillow will feel special. It’s all about the little joys in life!
Here, Nesties share stories from their honeymoon adventures:
It was very relaxed. We spent our first night at home, then the next day had breakfast with friends. Then the following day drove to a B&B in wine country a few hours away. Spent a week wine tasting and exploring the area. It was awesome.

We went on a seven-day cruise to Bermuda. It was our first time doing the cruise thing, and we found out that we were not “cruise people.” Half the time was spent traveling and the other half (three days) was supposed to be spent in Bermuda. However, we had to leave a day early because of an approaching storm. So we basically spent five days at sea. Eh, we’ve had better vacations. What made it special was that we were newlyweds.

Our honeymoon was fun and relaxing, after months of stress and planning a huge wedding. We went to Aruba for 10 days, lied on beach, drank, ate a lot and… well you know, we “honeymooned.” We like food, and one particular night after we were coming back from one of the the hotel restaurants, a stranger giggled at us and said, “Honeymooners?” We said, “Yes, how can you tell?” She replied: “We saw you in the restaurant and no one ever looks that much in love.” It’s small and may be meaningless to anyone else, but it’s something I will never forget. That made it special.
